How can I get better placement on shopping comparrison sites such as shopping.com?

Shopping.com's non-productized (also called dynamic navigation) categories are all the categories where listings are organized by their relevance to what the shopper types into our search box. Some category examples are Clothing, Shoes, Toys, and many of our accessories categories. For these categories you can optimize your product names to make your listings more relevant. The preferred product name structure is: ["Product Brand" "Descriptive Copy" "Product Type"] Here are some examples of good product names that follow this structured: Nike Shox Turboz Running Shoe McCartney "Proud American" Dog Breed T-Shirt Marvel Heroes Chess Set Spalding Official Size Top Flite 100 Basketball Keep in mind that you can only make a product most relevant to a specific search. For example, "Spalding Official Size Top Flite 100 Basketball" is great relevance if the shopper searches for "Basketball", but the relevance is slightly lower if the shopper searches for "Spalding." Product names should be specific and succinct. You can use product descriptions to include additional descriptive information. In our non-productized categories, for most searches there are several ties for relevance. In the event there is a tie, here is the order of tie-breakers we use to determine who is listed first: - Trusted Store - Is the item In Stock - Higher overall Store Rating - Higher number of Store Reviews - Displaying Tax and Shipping cost - Is Add-On Logo turned on - Higher Bid For searches with less than four matches, all listings will be "Featured Products"

We setup my Google Base account during my training call, the transfers show as successful, but no files are actually showing up on my Google account. Can you help me out with this one?

A new account at Google base may take up to 48 hours to process the data. After that Google will send you either an error email or a success. The best way to track the approval process from Google is to log-in to the back office and verify that there were no errors in the uploaded data(Incorrect headers, missing data, Invalid prices or URLs).

Will there be any downtime when switching over to Channel Management if our company is already using comparison engines?

The installation of Channel Management can be set up so there is no down time. For the installation, with your company's assistance, you should verify your products are correctly imported and then the feeds being exported to the comparison engines are configured to replicate your current feed format (which may be different than the default format issued by the comparison engine). This can be done very quickly. It all depends on your data and channels being used. However, once the system is set up and verified, you could switch off your current feeding method and switch to Channel Management resulting in zero downtime.

What is the best way to handle my pay per click costs using Chanalytics?

You may select the amount you will see on the report for each channel from bid 1, bid 2, bid 3, or variable per channel. This is done from the dropdown next to bidMethod in the Channel Information tab within the channel you are working with. The bidMethod Selected will populate your Chanalytics Report with the selected amount. The bid fields are fields attached to each product and can be populated with an import or mass update. Some common examples are as follows: 1. Bid 1 may be Shopzilla Bids, Bid 2 May be Shopping.com bids, Bid 3 May be Nextag Bids. 2. Bid 1 may be Low Bids, Bid 2 May be Mid bids, Bid 3 May be High Bids. 3. Bid 1 may be Featured product Bids, Bid 2 May be Average Product bids, Bid 3 May be Non-marketed Product Bids. It is up to your company and Marketing strategy to use the fields as you feel necessary. There is also A variable field that can be used if you would like to give one bid amount for the whole channel. As an example Froogle always has a Zero bid amount, so that may be a time when you would use that as opposed to a bid field. Just select the empty amount below bid3 in the bidMethod dropdown, then type in the desired bid amount. After all bidMethod changes are made, SAVE the Channel, then run it. At that point of time all new clicks and buys that come in will have the reflected changes.
